Teaching

Some say it's in my blood.

Others say to avoid it like an automatic weapon-armed liger.

I know I'll do it. Sooner. Later. Some time.

My workplace environment has declined steadily for more than a year now. I've got to make a change.

Teaching primary P.E. would be an experience. Teaching high school history would be more my speed. Teaching college-level history is the goal.

First, a route to graduate school must be established. A way to watch my high school football game of choice Friday nights in the fall is also a requirement. More than 10 days of paid vacation each year would be nice.

All these conditional statements prove one point: I must make a move.

Feast time

Saturday marks a celebratory shindig of the pick 'em league enjoyed by myself and nine of my long-time friends.

Not all of us will be in attendance, but those unable to partake of the merriment shall be toasted.

On the menu ...

(1) Fried catfish

(2) Fried jumbo shrimp

(3) Boiled jumbo shrimp

That list is sure to grow. These are simply the focal points of the feast.

When I say jumbo, I mean jumbo. We're talking U-12 colossals here. That's approximately a 10-count-per-pound shrimp. Large, large shellfish.

People who know me know my dislike for being in the water; I don't swim, not in pools, lakes, rivers, oceans, nothing. However, those same people also know I will ingest any living creature that lives in the water.

Saturday shall be a glorious day of feasting.

To commemorate my return ...

... the coolest beard on Earth ...

Hello again

I haven't been on here in almost a year.

That's stupid.

I need to get back to updating this thing.

Good people got laid off today at our newspaper. The diseased industry has fallen claimed victims in our smallish burg in the Pine Curtain.

Quick aside: Just saw the part in Jurassic Park when the Tyrannosaur eats the guy sitting on the toilet. Classic cinema.

I should keep my posts shorter. That would motivate me to update this more. I'll try to keep that in mind.

Take 'er easy.
